Incidents and clashes with the police in New York and Washington, in the George Floyd crime protests

In a new day of protests for the racist crime of George Floyd, New York experienced scenes of tension on Sunday night . Thousands of people took to the streets, where they staged violent crossings with the Police.

Demonstrations began after the murder of Floyd by a police officer in Minneapolis on Monday. The repudiation spread to dozens of cities in the United States and, over the days, the Donald Trump government raised the tone of the confrontation message.

The violence escalated on Saturday in Minneapolis, Los Angeles, Washington and New York, where two police vehicles rammed protesters.

This Sunday, however, there was a new peak in the confrontation , with hundreds of troops in the streets of New York, in which Floyd's expressions of repudiation of the crime multiplied. There were also incidents and clashes in Washington and Minneapolis.

According to police reports, Chiara de Blasio reportedly participated in an "illegal assembly" of protesters in Lower Manhattan and the arrest occurred an hour before her father, the mayor of the Big Apple, told the protesters that it was "time to go home "to avoid altercations.

New York - where hours before, some police officers joined the protests - is one of the few large cities that did not enact a curfew, despite the fact that there were a total of 730 people arrested since the protests began .

That measure, which seeks to stop the protests, was implemented in forty cities: Washington, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Beverly Hills, Denver, Miami, Orlando, Atlanta, Chicago, Indianapolis, Louisville, Detroit, Kansas, Cleveland, Seattle , Philadelphia, Portland, Dallas and San Antonio, among others.

"We need to transform hatred and energy into real, positive change. Only in this way will this time be a different time," wrote New York Governor Andrew Cuomo.

Despite the curfew, clashes with the police in the vicinity of the White House were repeated. And in Minneapolis, which is in a state of emergency, there were also incidents and burning cars. There, a tanker truck lashed out at a group of protesters.

Joe Biden, candidate for president by the Democratic Party, supported the demands of the African-American community, but condemned the violence of the protests.

Also, in the afternoon, protesters asked to avoid incidents in the marches this Sunday.

Instead, Donald Trump threatened - and concretized - the participation of the National Guard, while promoting the Army's exit to the streets.

The mobilizations are expected to continue into the early hours of Monday.
