He was probably traveling too fast: a motorcycle rider was seriously injured in an accident on Saturday. It flew 20 meters over an embankment.

Münsing - A motorcyclist was seriously injured in an accident on Saturday. At around 5 p.m., the 30-year-old from Munich drove his BMW machine on State Road 2065 from Münsing towards Holzhausen, the Wolfratshausen police report.

In a long right-hand bend, the motorcyclist probably got into the oncoming lane due to excessive speed. He brushed a BMW convertible that a 44-year-old Ickinger steered in the opposite direction. As a result, the motorcyclist went further left onto the steep embankment next to the road. The embankment acted like a ski jump, so that the motorcycle took off and flew about 20 meters through the air over the adjacent green area. When it came up, the motorcyclist crashed and slid back on the asphalt and about 90 meters across the street. The driver and motorcycle came to rest there.

The volunteer fire brigades from Münsing and Holzhausen secured the scene of the accident. The section of the state road 2065 was closed for about two and a half hours. A helicopter flew the seriously injured motorcyclist to the accident clinic in Murnau. The motorcycle had to be towed with total damage. There was total damage of around 20,000 euros.

The police are asking witnesses for relevant information on the driving style of the motorcyclist or his companion (also traveling with a BMW motorcycle), phone 0 81 71/4 21 10.   sw
