Protests do not stop in the US 2:12

(CNN) - Beyoncé is asking her legion of supporters to take action after George Floyd's death.

The multiple Grammy Award-winning artist is one of many celebrities who are using their social media to demand change in the wake of Floyd's death in Minneapolis last week.

"We are broken and we are upset," he said in a video posted to his Instagram account.

"We cannot normalize this pain. I'm not just talking to people of color. If you are white, black, or whatever, I am sure that you feel desperate for the racism that is occurring in the United States right now, ”she added.

Floyd was arrested by Minneapolis Police on Monday and died after officers pinned him to the ground. The video of the arrest showed Agent Derek Chauvin placing his knee on Floyd's neck for eight minutes and 46 seconds total. Chauvin has been charged with involuntary manslaughter and has already been fired from the Police, as have three other officers.

On her Instagram account, Beyoncé went on to say, “No more mindless killings of human beings. No more seeing black people as less human. We can no longer look the other way. George is our family and humanity. He is from our family, because he is a fellow American. ”

"Too many times we have seen these violent killings without consequence," he said. "Yes, someone has been accused, but justice is far from being achieved," he added.

Beyoncé ended the video by asking followers to visit a page on her website that includes links to various requests.

One of them has already accumulated more than nine million signatures on Change.org.

"Continue to pray for peace, compassion and healing in our country," he said.
