Washington, DC Mayor, Morrell Bawser, announced today the extension of the curfew hours imposed in the city due to the ongoing unrest.
"The curfew will start at seven o'clock this evening, after it was imposed in the city from eleven o'clock at night, and it will be imposed for two days," Bawser told AFP at a news conference.
"The murder of George Floyd annoys all Americans," Bowser added.
The killing of George Floyd, an African American, by the police in Minneapolis, Minnesota, has caused serious repercussions across the United States, where one person was killed and dozens were injured yesterday.
A state of emergency was declared, and a curfew was imposed in a number of cities, in addition to the arrest of hundreds of demonstrators.
