Iran could face a second and more severe wave of the spread of the Corona virus if it does not comply with various social remediation laws and guidelines, the health minister in the Islamic Republic, Said Namaki, warned on Monday.
After being hit most severely by the global epidemic among Middle Eastern countries, Iran began to ease closure in April due to a fall in the number of dead. And here, in May, we saw a new increase in adhesion compared to the end of April.
"The outbreak is not over yet and at any moment it may return more severely than before," Minister Namaki said in a statement to Iranian television media, "If our people fail to respect health guidelines ... we must prepare for the worst."
The Iranian health minister also said: "There is still a long way to go in the war against this virus ... All health guidelines must be respected."
Today, Iran has officially reported a total of 154,445 infections. This is an increase of 2,979 new cases compared to the previous day, in which 2,516 diagnoses were recorded. The state also reported another 81 victims of the virus today, raising the death toll to 7,878.
According to the report, government workers were recently allowed back to work and mosques were opened for prayers. However, authorities imposed re-restrictions in the southern provinces of Khosistan and Sistine and Baluchistan in the middle of last month, following an increase in the number of infections.
