"The guy might have weighed 70 kilos, but that was enough for the chunk to come loose." The rock pinched the climber's ankle, no chance of getting out. "The pain must have been incredible," thinks the firefighter.
Only at the beginning of May did a tragic mountain accident occur near the Upper Bavarian Schliersee. A family man (61) lost his life. A mountaineer also died on the Zugspitze in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. His body was only recovered on Wednesday.

The climber's companion called for help: the Hinterstein mountain rescue team went out with 16 men, and the fire departments in Hinterstein, Bad Hindelang and Sonthofen were also alerted. A total of 70 rescue and police forces were deployed.
The accident site is difficult to reach on foot due to the landslide.
