The pandemic is transforming language and, for the near future of cities, the new challenges are called " healthy cities"  or healthy cities and "overcoming over tourism" , that is, the excessive concentration of travelers in the historic centers of the cities of art for certain times of the year. The basic idea is to be able to re-program lifestyles and habits, lower smog levels, make local health more efficient, find alternatives to public and private transport, accelerate the environment and improve the waste cycle, living in cleaner and human-sized environments, implementing the city-countryside relationship to the maximum.

These and other issues related to the circular economy were addressed during a webinar based in Rome at the Club Lounge Italia urban laboratory directed by Massimo Castellano , on the theme "The health of cities through the circular economy of the environment. From Smart cities to Eco cities, to Healthy cities'.

The theme of the transitions between city models was touched in particular by Antonio Speranza , vice president of the Italian Society for the advancement of science (Sips) and Project Manager of "Smart & Clean Eur". "This is a discussion - said Speranza - already officially launched in the Cnr area last December, evolving towards a vision that integrates the epochal recent developments related to the pandemic". This evolution of cities, due to the transition dictated by the pandemic crisis, from ecological to healthy, will have to take place through the reorganization of the processes of the city economy and the integration of experiences also linked to the management of municipal solid waste, tourism, training, circular economies for the environment, accelerators of sustainable development and urban regeneration for local Governments.

Armando Montanari , professor of tourism science at La Sapienza in Rome and vice president of the start-up Sara Envimob spoke on the topic of over tourism . "Until the end of 2019 - he stressed - the same crisis in the sector was caused by this phenomenon in the historical areas of Rome and by the need for a rebalancing policy in favor of areas rich in natural and cultural heritage but not very organized in terms of offer Tourism. Starting from the changes brought about by the containment policies of the Corona Virus it is expected that the phenomena of overtourism will be reduced while in any case the tourist offer will have to be reorganized in favor of local and national tourist flows. The tool of the relaunch must be greater attention to environmental issues and the reduction of the consumption of air, water, soil and waste production ".

"This on-line talk - said in particular the webinar promoter Federico Orlando of Remunero, a start-up that studies savings models for families and businesses of the Tari costs for local areas - was born as a qualified comparison and update from which a series of important activities, proposals and projects have emerged that relate precisely to the environment, tourism and the world of education, with a view to supporting and relaunching the territorial socio-economic systems "

The webinar, introduced by the author Rossana Tosto , was also attended by Marietta Tidei (councilor of the Lazio Region and president of the Economic Development and Productive Activities Commission, Giuseppe Catania (mayor of the municipality of Mussomeli in the province of Caltanissetta), Luciano Ridolfi (councilor for Activities economic and productive activities of the Municipality of Cerveteri), Alessandro Belli (councilor and president of the Budget commission of the Municipality of Pistoia), Sandro Polci (member of the presidency of the National Scientific Committee on the Environment League and artistic director of the European Festival of the Via Francigene), Mariano Mariani ( director of the Natural Park of Porto Conte of Alghero) and Laura Castellani (educational director of Its Si Foundation, higher technical institute for marketing and business internationalization).
