Three people were detained in Montevideo as part of the investigation into the triple murder of the Marines that occurred on Sunday.
The three loaders and one of the automatic pistols belonging to the murdered infants were found at the place of arrest of these three people , according to the Uruguayan newspaper El País.
The crime occurred this Sunday at a Navy guard post that guards an old radar antenna located near the Cerro Fortress. The officers killed were Juan Manuel Escobar (22), Alex Guillenea (25) and Alan Rodríguez (31).
All of them lacked their regulatory weapons, although three bulletproof vests and long weapons were found at the scene. The newspaper El Observador, for its part, published a source from the Ministry of the Interior who assured that "they were executed and brought the three 9mm pistols."
On Sunday night, President Luis Lacalle Pou referred to the killings and said of those responsible: "We are going to fight, persecute and capture them."
The president added that the "indignation, sadness and anger, that the national people have is the same as that of the government and the President of the Republic", while he pointed out that he or those responsible "will be put in the hands of Justice to be judged. "
The bodies were found at eight o'clock in the morning, inside the box of the post located at the intersection of Calle Cuba and Avenida José Batlle y Ordóñez, which guards the Cerro's antenna, by another sailor who had gone to relieve his companions. of the 24-hour guard.
The episode occurred three weeks after the attack with a homemade bomb against the Narcotics Brigade, also in Montevideo.
