Seeshaupt - The angry citizens refer in the letter, which was read out in the latest council meeting, to the village development concept adopted at the end of 2019, according to which the area around the steamer pier should be upgraded in terms of design and functionality. Despite all election promises, the quality of stay and life had deteriorated significantly. Regardless of the waiting boat passengers, teenagers would pee on hedges and fences. "Adult guests of the kiosk sometimes disappear into the open garden of the Mouson house," the residents are annoyed.

In addition, there would be further problems and annoyances, among other things from the noise from mobile music systems - sometimes from Saturday morning until late at night. Therefore, balconies and gardens can only be used to a very limited extent. "We haven't had a good night's sleep in the summer months for years," complain the complainants.

Local residents: Attempts to talk have so far failed

Attempts to find a mutually acceptable solution, for example through talks, have failed because alcoholized adolescents strike aggressive tones. In their letter to the community, the annoyed citizens refer to the statute on the use of public green spaces in Seeshaupt. They require both clearly visible signage and consistent measures so that the applicable rules are also observed in the future. In addition, an undisturbed night's sleep must be guaranteed from 10 p.m.

Similar problems in other lake communities

Other municipalities, such as Herrsching, Schondorf and Utting am Ammersee, are also struggling with problems similar to those at Lake Starnberg, where wild parties have led to a ban on alcohol and music. Because nowadays, young people can use mobile phones and the Internet to make appointments very quickly, and the USB boxes connected to mobile phones are becoming increasingly powerful. That is why, for example, the municipality of Utting took drastic measures some time ago and imposed a ban on alcohol and music in the summer park, which in the weekend nights increasingly degenerated into “Ballermann am Ammersee”, as the council said. Therefore, security guards are allowed to take personal information and hold rioters until the police arrive.

Seeshaupt town council wants to found a working group

How to get the described problems in Seeshaupt under control was not discussed further in the municipal council. Mayor Fritz Egold suggested that a working group talk about suitable measures and "seek solutions that are acceptable to everyone". Because in his view fewer young people are responsible for the grievances than rather foreign visitors who come with their equipment on Saturday evening and besiege the area around the steamer dock. "Of course they celebrate loudly and regardless of the locals who want to sleep," said Egold. He lives in the second row on the lake promenade and knows the problems partly from his own experience.

Whether security people will have to control in the future or other measures promise success should still be discussed in detail. "After all, it must also be clarified who should then pay for everything," the mayor said.
