The "Anne Will" summer break begins in 2020 earlier than in previous years - although there is a need for discussion due to the corona crisis.

  • Anne Will always comes on Sundays at 9.45pm.
  • This year the  "Anne Will" summer break will last longer than 2019.
  • This is surprising as there is a great need for information due to the corona pandemic .

The " Anne Will" summer break starts in 2020 at a surprising time: In the middle of the corona pandemic, when there is a lot of need for discussion and information . In the past few weeks, Anne Will has been dealing with the crisis almost without exception. On May 24, for example, Federal Finance Minister Olaf Scholz and the party leader of the Greens Annalena Baerbock discussed the question "Billions against the crisis - is the money being invested correctly?". The mix of topics in political talks is usually very broad - from climate protection to elections and mental overload. The most famous interview partners of the moderator  included Angela Merkel and Greta Thunberg.

"Anne Will": Günther Jauch contested her broadcasting position

As the successor to Sabine Christiansen , Anne Will moderated the political talk show for the first time on Sunday,  September 16, 2007 under her name. Günther Jauch had previously rejected the positions. The political talk show is produced by Will Media GmbH, whose managing director is Anne Will herself.

On September 11, 2011 Günther Jauch took over the broadcast on Sunday evening and from then on Anne Will was always   broadcast on Wednesdays . At the end of 2015, the host switched back to the slot on Sunday after Günther Jauch gave up his talk show.

“Anne Will” summer break: there are currently 30 programs per year

Apart from certain dates such as  public holidays  and the summer break , the talk show "Anne Will" is broadcast weekly on Sunday evening at 9.45 p.m. on the first (ARD) . The moderator has contractually agreed 30 programs a year with the broadcaster. The talk show can also be followed via the live stream of the first . After the broadcast, it is possible to see it in the ARD media library .

"Anne Will" summer break: when does it start in 2020?

In 2020 Anne Will's summer break will start in mid-June . The last broadcast will be broadcast on June 14, 2020 after a "police call 110" thriller . Anne Will will  moderate the first broadcast after the interruption on September 6, 2020 . The “vacation” of the moderator will therefore take almost three months . While there were eight Sundays without Anne Will in summer 2019 , there will be eleven in 2020 . Other moderators such as Sandra Maischberger or Frank Plasberg will take a longer summer break in 2020 than in previous years. Social media users are amazed at the lengthening of the interruption, since there is actually a great need for information and discussions due to the Corona crisis.

The ARD talk shows @maischberger @annewill @hartaberfair will go into the summer break earlier in the # Corona year 2020 and come back later.
A strange sign in such politically exciting and decisive times.
