The prefecture of police had announced that the demonstration was not authorized because of the state of health emergency which prohibits any public gathering of more than ten people, because it had not been the subject of any prior declaration " She also believed that "the tone of the call to protest relayed by social networks raised fears that overflows would occur on a sensitive site" . The protest took place in the context of those held in the United States and other countries after the death of George Floyd, a 46-year-old black American who was asphyxiated by a white police officer in the United States on May 25.
