The quantities of apples exported from the endosperm governorate reached the foreign markets for the 2019-2020 season, which runs from last October to the end of last month, to 5500 tons.
In a statement to the SANA Economic Bulletin, the head of the Chamber of Agriculture Suwayda Hatem Abu Ras stated that the Chamber granted 250 certificates of origin to apple exporters, pointing out that the export operations focused on the Egyptian market and part of Sudan and all of them were done through maritime transport due to the difficulty of exporting by land via Jordan.
Apple is the main crop in the Governorate of As-Suwayda and its production for the 2019 season reached 21,317 tons.
