Mark Forster steals the show from successful namesake in Hollywood

Kebekus drew the singer's attention to the fact that he basically "stole the Internet" from his namesake Marc (with "C"!) Forster, according to her jocular wording. Because behind Marc Forster with "C" hides a successful director, producer and screenwriter, who already has Hollywood greats like Brad Pitt for his film "World War Z" or Daniel Craig in the James Bond flick "A Quantum of Comfort" Camera picked up.

But if you search for the filmmaker on Google, users are first suggested to be forwarded to singer Mark Forster . The filmmaker's Wikipedia article also points out right from the start that this is not the singer.

"It used to be the other way around," the singer recalls when he wasn't yet at the top of Google's search hits.

Hard to say: Mark Forster reveals his real name - and even has to spell it

But the other revelation that the “The Voice of Germany” judge will make in terms of names will be much more interesting. "That's not even your real name," Carolin Kebekus clarifies and wants to know from the musician why he calls himself that.

"So my real name is Mark Cwiertnia, " admits the 37-year-old and spells the bulky name, which had brought him so many difficulties in school, even in radio alphabet (Ceasar, Wilhelm, Ida, Erwin, Richard, Theodor, North Pole , Ida, Anton). "It became clear to me relatively quickly that the pop singer is unsuitable if no one can pronounce it," explains Forster, who has often made headlines with Lena Meyer-Landrut in the past few weeks *.

The scene can be seen from minute 30 in the "Carolin Kebekus Show" in the ARD media library on May 28, 2020.

Mark Forster: That's how the singer got his stage name

It was difficult for him to choose an artist name , says the music star. Ultimately, his studio, which was on Forsterstrasse, would have led to his pseudonym.

ARD: Mark Forster returns the favor to Carolin Kebekus

Carolin Kebekus later challenges her guest Mark Forster in a game round. In "Flirt or Curse", a kind of  "foreign language" quiz , Kebekus and Forster have to guess whether a certain sentence in a foreign language is an insult or a compliment. The sentences are spoken by connected celebrities, including the Brazilian TV host Zana Ina Zarelli and her Italian husband Giovianni. And then the singer retaliates at Kebekus for the previous taunts about his name and rip off his challenger mercilessly.
