Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced today that Russian President Vladimir Putin does not intend to participate in an online summit organized by the British government this week on a possible vaccine for the Corona virus.
"Putin received an invitation to participate in the summit from British Prime Minister Boris Johnson last week, but he does not intend to participate in it," Peskov news agency quoted Peskov as saying in an interview with reporters, adding that Russia "is not expected to be represented at the highest level."
The summit is scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday, and aims to mobilize the necessary resources to provide a vaccine for the emerging corona virus.
The Russian Ministry of Defense announced earlier today the implementation of successful tests for a possible vaccine against the Corona virus in one of its centers for scientific research on monkeys and hamsters.
It is noteworthy that the newly created Corona virus has killed 380,532 people in the world since it appeared last December, according to new statistics published by World Meters yesterday.
