(CNN Spanish) -  Opposition leader Juan Guaidó, president of the National Assembly of Venezuela, reported on Tuesday that his uncle Juan José Márquez was transferred to his residence after being detained since February.

CNN has not been able to independently verify the raids Guaidó made reference to in that tweet.

“We were able to verify that (Juan José Márquez) was transferred to his home. His place of confinement was changed and there are officials from the DGCIM (General Directorate of Military Counterintelligence) at the residence, ”Joel García, Márquez's lawyer, confirmed to CNN.

The defense claims not to have received any communication from any authority regarding the measure and that it only found that the transfer was carried out.

"We do not know his legal situation or under what circumstances he was transferred to his home," explained García. "We are not going to know the legal situation of Juan José Márquez because the court is closed," he added, referring to the partial paralysis of the Venezuelan justice system due to the state of national alarm due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Márquez is charged with "possession of weapons and explosives", his lawyer maintains after having had access to his judicial file.
CNN contacted the Public Ministry to obtain information on this case, but has not received a response.

Juan José Márquez was detained on February 11 at the Simón Bolívar International Airport, when he was returning from accompanying Juan Guaidó on the international tour that took him through Europe and the United States at the beginning of the year.
