The blue tunnel posters in Starnberg can be hung up again. The city council has changed the regulations.

Starnberg - The State Building Office in Weilheim will once again be able to use banners to refer to the tunnel construction site and the associated information container. In its most recent meeting, the city council cleared the way for this by amending the poster ordinance by a large majority. In contrast, only the tunnel opponents of the WPS and BMS City Councilor Anton Summer voted.

The ordinance stipulates that posters and posters are normally only allowed on poster pillars, notice boards, banners and display cases. There are a few exceptions, such as posters and announcements from local clubs and associations that refer to events, or election campaigns in a limited time frame. So far, no exceptions have been made for announcements from public bodies, including the State Building Authority. That is why the city administration had the blue and white tunnel banners of the building authority suspended in the city even before the local election (we reported).

Criticism of tunnel opponents

The city council has now changed the regulation, even if the WPS city councils did not want to understand it at all. Prof. Günther Picker criticized that an authority was granted "a special role". Markus Mooser (WPS) spoke of a "clear advertising campaign for the B 2 tunnel". Marc Fiedler (FDP), on the other hand, saw the authorities' duty to provide information as a "sovereign task". Even Mayor Patrick Janik could not understand the criticism. The city should also give citizens the opportunity to find out more about the project, he said. In addition, an authority can be expected to be sensitive to the type and number of advertising materials. After all, there was no commercial interest behind it, said the mayor.

The addiction campaign shortly before the local elections had made some waves at the time.
