A tragic event occurred on Sunday in South Wales, Australia, when a three-foot-long shark killed a 60-year-old surfer who was surfing at the time. That's how New South Wales local police reported.

Several surfers who were around the event tried to help the victim but to no avail. The surfers called for help and joined them by a motorcycle, too, and together they fought a shark before they were able to rescue the critically injured surfer, but, as mentioned, they finally managed to get him off to the beach.

The police who were summoned to the beach in a hurry stated about the incident that "he was offered first aid for his significant wounds, especially with his left foot, but finally he died in the ring."

Data released in Australia shows that the 60-year-old surfer killed today is the third victim of shark attacks in the country, although the phenomenon is considered relatively rare. Last year, 2019, no humans died in Australia as a result of shark attacks.
