Second priesthood - only through stability

Trump can be loved and hated, but there is one thing that cannot be taken away from him: the ability to say what is on his heart without refining it according to the rules of political correctness.

That's why he has recently managed to keep polling on his 2016 voter coalition: the same factory workers who massacre Democrats and their cosmopolitan attitudes, suburban whites who have never been in any party's pocket, and independent voters who massed the two-party establishment. However, it is precisely this coalition that is eyeing it now that it has chosen to change America's character, but not at all costs.

History shows that presidents who want a second term are successful when the economy shines on them.

For Trump the battle for the second term is expected to be under unique conditions. As historical voting patterns were irrelevant in predicting the 2016 election results, it is pointless to look at past elections to predict voter sentencing on November 3, 2020.

Until recently, Trump hoped he could at least market the economy as the winning card. The stock market went up, and the Americans gave it good grades. Not only that, but unemployment rates among blacks have fallen to the lowest documented rate ever: 5.5 percent. Trump hoped, and still hopes, that the state of the economy will help restore his coalition and add many voters, who are usually the Democratic base: blacks in key cities in key countries.

While the Corona epidemic has disrupted large parts of the economy, it is precisely this weekend that good employment figures show how robust the US economy is and how much Trump can still encourage.

At this rate, if the economy continues to open and the government continues to grant grants, voters are unlikely to vote against it simply because of the Corona.

The big question is whether protest rallies following the killing of George Floyd, along with the Corona crisis and other unexpected events, will become a "perfect storm" that will create a vicious atmosphere in America that will undermine his coalition. His concern is that the atmosphere - more than any crisis or event - will lead his rival Joe Biden to the White House. Trump knows that the American people ultimately vote for those who give him hope.

Commentators in 2016 were sure Trump's blatant and frightening things would discourage voters, but the forgotten "second America" got his things as a fresh spirit of innovation and decided to give him a chance.

This time, though, Trump is nominated second only to his own record, not the eight-year Obama administration, and has no elitist rival like Hillary Clinton.

This time he will have to feel that things in America are in control. And so what he desires most is stability: the continued economic recovery and the return of the law and order to the streets, and above all - the general feeling that America is heading in the right direction. Now he will turn with all his might to prove that a president is not replaced in times of crisis, and that only he can move America forward.
