He has already had the ok of the local politicians: Stephan Riedl wants to relocate his orthopedic specialist shop from the center of the town to Partenkirchner Strasse and has received the majority approval from the Ohlstadt town council. But the vote is only the first step. Since this is an outdoor property, resistance could follow.

Ohlstadt - In planning terms, the decisive course was set in the most recent municipal council meeting: with 10: 6 votes, the local politicians in Ohlstadt approved the change in the land use plan on a meadow area following the Feneberg grocery store. At the same time, they agreed to draw up a project-related development plan with the project name "Partenkirchner Straße-Orthopädie-Schuhmacherei".

Area previously used for agriculture

This is accompanied by the rededication of the area, which was previously intended for agricultural use, into a commercial area. Orthopedic master shoemaker Stephan Riedl was able to see the joy in spite of the not too clear vote and the resistance that was expressed: He thanked the councilors and left the meeting room with a team of planners and architects relieved.

Space problems and restrictions

Previously, he had used detailed plans to advertise his construction project. In particular, the Ohlstadt-based company claimed space problems and official requirements, whose company specializes in the manufacture and repair of orthopedic shoes and claims to be very successful both nationwide and in other European countries - among other things, the accident clinic is a key customer.

Plot "ideal"

The premises at the current location in the town center are no longer suitable. "We have a lot of legal requirements, for example from the health insurance companies," said the entrepreneur. Extension buildings are required, including a wheelchair-accessible toilet, a social room for employees, lying areas and a corridor and running area with a minimum length of eight meters. In addition, the waiting area and the workshop complex would have to be expanded. In order to keep the company on course for expansion and to hire employees, he needed a new location where the corresponding building with parking spaces could be built. "The property on Partenkirchner Strasse is ideal for this," summarized Riedl.

Panel at odds

The panel was divided on this issue. Although everyone pleaded to keep the successful entrepreneur on site, many did not like the fact that an area that is planned for agricultural use must fall victim to the building project. Thomas Guggemoos (NLO) wanted to know whether the orthopedic shoemaker could not be relocated to the current location on Dorfbach. Riedl said no and frankly admitted that Partenkirchner Strasse was a kind of figurehead: “The representation is very different. I'm honest: it's also about the situation. ”He openly threatened to leave if he wasn't given permission.

A precedent?

Anton Fischer (NLO) was afraid to set a precedent with a permit: if Riedl's plans were approved, others could also come forward and insist on building rights in the area. With regard to the equal treatment of the citizens, he has "greatest concerns." Mayor Christian Scheuerer (party-free) does not consider the new location ideal in view of the location - "I'm not incredibly happy" - but made an overall impression for Riedls Concerns strong. “I also think it is negligent for the municipality to let companies move. In particular, it is also about securing jobs and training positions. That's why I say: I can take it with me. "
