The General Authority for Fish Wealth, in cooperation with the Homs Agriculture Directorate, began distributing fish fingerlings to 100 beneficiaries in Homs Governorate, within the framework of the General Authority for Fish Resources to spread the culture of family fish farms.

Engineer Nazih Al-Rifai, Director of Homs Agriculture, confirmed to a SANA reporter that this project comes in cooperation with the Fish Resources Center to support farmers and breeders, pointing out that today the distribution of the first phase in the village of Naqira has begun and distribution will continue in the coming days.

The Director of Agriculture pointed out that all of the grants granted to farmers from "bees, poultry, irrigation networks, sheep, and summer and winter seeds" come within the framework of the government's plan to support the agricultural sector in both its vegetable and animal sectors, as it is considered the safety net for the national economy that is under unfair siege.

For his part, Eng. Waseem Qasrawi, Director of the Fish Resources Center in Homs, indicated that today the beginning of the implementation of the first stage of planting family farms in Homs, where the province was allocated 100 grants from fingerlings within the plan of the General Authority for Fish Wealth to spread the culture of family fish farms, pointing out that the project aims to Increase the individual's share of fish.

Dr. Ali Othman, Director of Aquatic Research at the Public Authority for Fish Resources stressed the importance of these projects in providing support to farmers and securing additional income for their families and spreading fish farming, which is a unique material for the consumer through securing animal protein for citizens in addition to reducing the use of chemical fertilizers due to the rich residues of fish offered In the water with nutrients beneficial to plants.

Ismail Al-Aqra, one of the beneficiaries of the project in the village of Naqira in Homs countryside, indicated that obtaining fingerlings of fish provides animal protein for families in addition to benefiting from fish dung as an organic material rich in amino acids, while Zakaria Zakaria explained the importance of the project that achieves abundant fish production for rural families benefiting from the grant .
