Ordered film money online

It all started on January 10th of this year. On this day, the accused ordered 450 counterfeit banknotes for 20, 50, 100 and 500 euros via an internet sales platform. He wanted to buy the counterfeit money, called film money, to use it as supposedly real money for paying. The defendant then went to a brothel in the east of Munich at around 10 p.m. on January 17, according to the press report by the district court. There he wanted to use the services of the prostitutes for 15 minutes and first gave her a hundred for payment, pretending to be genuine, then, since she could not change, one of the fake 50-euro bills.

Clearly recognizable "copy" imprint

Right from the start, the prostitute thought that the banknotes looked weird and brought the 50-euro note to the owner of the brothel, who also recognized the forgery without a doubt from the “copy” imprint. The prostitute held the accused off until the police officers called in could arrest him. An arrest warrant was issued against him. He remained in custody pending trial.

The defendant, who has not been previously convicted, admitted the crime in the main trial. "Unfortunately I did that. I wanted to spend the money, now I am in control and know that was wrong. I want to apologize to the lady and to the court. ”

The police officer questioned as witness said at the trial: “We secured the counterfeit notes and the cell phone. The cell phone was evaluated. Since the app was found, we could see the counterfeit money order on this app. Some of the banknotes have already been delivered, the banknotes over 500 euros and the 20 euro notes were still missing. We have informed the relevant office so that the delivery can be intercepted. ”In addition to the money available as“ film money ”on the Internet, he stated that the notes were often accepted. According to his knowledge, around 1,600 notes had already been put into circulation.

Confession mitigates punishment

The presiding judge justified her judgment, among other things, as follows: "In favor of the accused spoke his confession, which was based on repentance and admission of guilt. He has already shown himself to be cooperative with the police and was visibly impressed by the procedure. The inhibition threshold when ordering via the Internet required only minimal criminal energy. "

However, the defendant said that he had ordered a very large amount of counterfeit money. Even if the quality of the counterfeit money was poor, it was still suitable for deception. Taking into account all the circumstances that spoke for and against the accused, the court considered that the imposition of a prison sentence of one year and eleven months was appropriate and guilty. This could be suspended for probation.

The accused is also privately connected to his employer and can start training there from September 2020.
