George Floyd's funeral in Houston was that of a celebrity along with a historic moment for the United States. In the Fontaine de Louanges Baptist Church, 500 people invited by the family gathered for the ceremony, which was broadcast by major American television channels.

The portrait of George Floyd in a baseball cap, with a halo and angel wings, had been placed on the platform, an artist came to draw another with white paint on a black background. The audience, masked, listened to tributes, sung and danced gospels, speakers, including several members of Congress, who spoke to pay tribute to George Floyd.
