Beijing-Sana
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said today that Beijing does not intend to participate in trilateral talks with the United States and Russia on nuclear weapons.
"On this issue, we have repeatedly expressed our position ... and China does not intend to participate in the so-called tripartite talks with the United States and Russia on nuclear disarmament," Hua told a news conference.
She pointed out that the United States is constantly trying to involve China in the issue of extending the Russian-American strategic offensive arms limitation treaty, the New Start, pointing out that this is the typical behavior of Americans when they want to evade responsibility and hold it to other countries.
The spokeswoman added that the United States has spoken repeatedly about China on the issue of extending the treaty of increasing the reduction and restriction of strategic offensive arms measures, which is a constant trick for the United States to evade its responsibilities towards other countries, noting Washington's withdrawal from many international agreements and treaties such as Iran's nuclear agreement and the "open sky" treaty.
The United States had announced that it was considering extending the START treaty for offensive weapons with Russia that expires in 2021, but suggested that it be expanded to include a large group of new weapons that are not currently part of the treaty. It also proposed that China be included in the treaty while Beijing said it was not interested. With such negotiations.
