The deadline for implementing the sovereignty-based application of US President Trump's vision is from July to September, according to political sources who are considering implementing the historic move.

The same factors explained that the implementation of sovereignty in the Jordan Valley and Judea and Samaria has many broad meanings and aspects. Because the coalition agreement with Blue and White allows the issue to be voted on only from July 1 onwards, and since work on these aspects is still underway, the intention is to take the step in the summer months, and not later than September. Prime Minister Netanyahu said two weeks ago in the Likud faction that the deadline for applying sovereignty is July 1.

Today, German Foreign Minister Haiku Maas is expected to land in Trump's peace plan, and in particular the application of sovereignty. Germany, the EU's leading president by the end of 2020 and the country's strongest country, strongly opposes the annexation of the territories. It is estimated that the German minister will present this position to his colleague, Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi, and to Netanyahu, with whom he will meet separately.

Both Germany and the EU threaten to halt economic and other cooperation with Israel if the sovereignty step is fulfilled. However, European diplomats and Israeli officials are of the opinion that, in practical terms, European response measures will not be harsh, but will primarily prevent the development of existing ties. Europeans' position is that applying Israeli law unilaterally to Judea is a violation of international law.

On the other hand, Israel presents legal arguments that confirm its right to take this step - arguments backed by the US government.

Everything you wanted to know about applying sovereignty

Strong opposition from the Palestinians, as expected. Palestinian Prime Minister Muhammad Ashiyeh yesterday threatened that the Palestinians would declare a state within the 1967 borders if Israel declared sovereignty. She said this during a conference call with foreign correspondents in Ramallah.

"If Israel does implement the annexation plan on July 1, steps will be taken with the international community to declare an independent Palestinian state within the 1967 borders, whose capital is East Jerusalem," Ayesha threatened. He added that the PA will not pay salaries to its employees this month because of the non-transfer of funds from Israel which the PA itself refused to receive.

An official with the Palestinian Authority, Hussein a-Sheikh, said in an interview with The New York Times yesterday that Israeli citizens or East Jerusalem residents will not be extradited to Israel if they go astray, and will be sentenced in the PA if caught when they break the law.

At the same time, the Palestinian attempt to raise international resistance continues. Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki yesterday spoke to South Africa's Foreign Minister Naldi Pandor. "We stand alongside the Palestinians in all international forums. We intend to confront the annexation program at the governmental, parliamentary and social levels," Pandor declared.

Gantz: "They'll give you - take"

Defense Minister Benny Gantz yesterday toured the Judea and Samaria Division headquarters in Beit El, to check on IDF preparations in the area. Later, Gantz met with all the heads of Israeli authorities in Judea and Samaria to hear their position on the issue of sovereignty and current issues.

Gantz addressed the issue of sovereignty, and formulated cautiously. "The task is to help prevent the sovereignty's move even before the move itself exists," he clarified. "It must work to apply it in coordination with the Americans and to do so responsibly and properly. Mapinnick once taught me - what you will take, Bashar will handle later. The reality in Judea and Samaria has changed for you and for you, and that requires a different response than it was during the time when I served as the commander of the UNSC division. " At the end of the meeting, Gantz requested to tour the Ya'akov Dream site at Beit El.

Yesha Council Chairman David Alhaini, who quarreled with Netanyahu and Knesset Speaker Yariv Levin after questioning the US's friendship with Israel following the Centennial Plan, told Gantz that they "trust him to act on the map as well."
