Munich / Dachau - Sometimes life just doesn’t make a difference. Because there is no drive, you have the wrong friends and sweet idleness seems much more desirable than training. This is the only sign of a young man (19) from the eastern district of Dachau who tried to buy a pastry in a bakery in Gersthofen with a fake 50 euro note.

He was tried on Monday. How he got hold of the bill was left open in the appeal proceedings before the regional court in Munich II; allegedly he hadn't noticed that it was a fake.

When the seller noticed the fraud and ran after him, he had given her the remaining money without discussion and promised to pay the goods with real money. Back in the bakery, however, he asked for his fifties back - probably in the hope that he would not be successful in this business, but would be successful in another. The problem: The bakery owner no longer wanted to give away the counterfeit money, on the contrary: he called the police. And the 19-year-old took flight.

No wonder, he said in court, after all, he had already had experience with the judiciary. Two judicial directives on theft and drug trafficking as well as dangerous bodily harm adorned his move to the Federal Central Register (BZR). Only with horror did the young man remember the week-long youth arrest he had received for the physical injury. "I never want to be locked up again," he said.

Still, the terrible experience behind bars hadn't stopped him from circulating counterfeit money and committing another robbery together. In November 2018, the defendant is believed to have robbed a man with several cronies who was on his way home from the S-Bahn station in Dachau.

In the case of counterfeit money, the court tried to persuade the young man to withdraw his allegation that he had unwittingly got hold of the bill. Even the saleswoman had noticed a certain nervousness about him and wondered about the leather gloves the young man was wearing. She thought that was "very unusual". The 19-year-old argued before the court that he had always opened the car windows because of smoking and that his hands would otherwise become too cold.

The court did not relieve him of this allegation and left it at first instance for the six-month suspended sentence. The defendant did not deal with the causes of his acts any more than he did not really distance himself from his problem friends, said the judge.

A 24-year-old from the Munich district wanted to use a counterfeit money to finance an hour's sleep in a brothel.
