According to market survey data obtained by Lvxi Earth, three major confectionery brands, including MARS, Ferrero and Nestle, accounted for nearly 40% of the confectionery market in Hong Kong, and promised on international platforms the year before By 2025, plastics removal measures will be implemented, such as packaging with clear recycling instructions, 100% packaging is recyclable, reusable, and degradable materials.

Lu Xi Earth said that the above three companies have implemented recycling measures in foreign countries, but the measures in Hong Kong are not upheld, questioning the true public relations of the enterprises, and fake plastics. Green Planet Earth inquired about the progress of the implementation of plastic reduction measures in Hong Kong, and the company's response was not positive: Nestlé responded that there are dedicated colleagues to follow up on the packaging data sold in Hong Kong; Ferrero said that there is no relevant statistics; MARS responded most negatively, only reaffirming its international commitment . Liu Zhaolang, the senior project director of Lvxi Earth, was disappointed that the company refused to respond to the inquiry about the progress.

Lvxi Earth urges confectionery companies to disclose the consumption of imported packaging, and to introduce naked buying, use of non-plastic packaging and other alternatives to reduce plasticity at the source. To use plastic materials, the packaging must be printed with clear recycling instructions, and the enterprise should bear the responsibility of recycling packaging waste. Liu Zhaolang believes that enterprises cannot fail to fulfill their international commitments because of different environmental standards in different countries. Luxi Earth urges the government to implement the producer responsibility system and garbage levy as soon as possible, and compel manufacturers to report the amount of plastic packaging.
