The People's Assembly, at its fifth session of the thirteenth regular session of the second legislative session convened under the chairmanship of Hammouda Sabbagh, Speaker of the Council, approved a draft law that included amending some provisions of Law No. 34 of 2007 regarding the veterinarian pension fund and became law.
The second article of the draft law indicates that the vet retirement fund has a legal personality and has the right to own movable and immovable funds and invest them and to establish productive and investment projects in order to achieve its goals and is represented by the head of the treasury board before the judiciary and others.
And based on the proposals of the council members, it was agreed to raise the fees of the Veterinarians Syndicate in the third article of the project for each of the sheep and goats, and the council agreed on the remainder of the article that set a percentage of 2% in favor of the union from the wages of laboratory analyzes conducted by the Ministry of Agriculture on animals And animal and veterinary medicinal products imported and exported.
Articles 4 to 6 show that members of the Treasury Council and the Oversight and Inspection Committee are original members of the subsequent general election conference of the Treasury and that the Conference has the right to delegate some of its powers to the Central Council of the Union.
Articles 7 and 8 of the project specify "a basic retirement pension for those who have completed thirty years or more in practicing the profession, plus 2% of the retirement pension for each service after thirty years' service, provided that he has paid all his financial obligations for."
Articles 8 and 9 clarify that the pension payment is suspended for the member if he loses one of the conditions of referral to retirement and the amounts he received without right are recovered and a fine of 10% of these amounts is imposed. For his part, the Minister of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform Eng. Ahmed Al-Qadri confirmed that the aim of the draft law is to provide optimal services to veterinarians and facilitate the needs of livestock breeders, describing this project as a compromise between the “pension and syndicate” laws for veterinarians, which includes organizational amendments that contribute to improving the pension For veterinarians.
