Lattakia Governorate today launched an initiative in coordination with the owners of commercial events and producers of foodstuffs to sell their products directly in the popular markets that were created in the governorate in the cities of “Lattakia, Jableh, and Qirdahah” at reduced prices either through special outlets for them or in cooperation with the branch of the Syrian Foundation for Trade.
He pointed out that the purpose of the initiative is also to prevent the monopoly of products and provide them in the vegetable and fruit markets, which helps in buying all the needs from one place and alleviate the burdens on citizens in addition to setting up a kiosk to sell bread in the market itself, stressing that the initiative will contribute to reducing prices in the markets in cooperation with all manufacturers The foodstuffs in the governorate.
Abdullah Tarrad Supervisor of Promotion in Al-Nasser Foodstuff Company pointed out that the initiative is based on reducing costs from transportation and other fees while deducting the percentage of profit allocated to the retailer and retailer to provide the commodity at discounted prices to consumers, indicating that the governorate has provided the appropriate place in the market and that they are continuing the initiative to support citizens.
Wael Al-Jundi, a sales manager in one of the companies said, “We decided to sell directly according to this initiative, so that the product will be at a reduced price and a kind of businessmen’s participation and stand by the citizens through lowering the prices,” pointing out that the discount is about 30 percent on the price of materials in the retail stores.
A number of citizens, while shopping from popular markets, expressed the importance of this initiative and its role in providing products at reasonable prices compared to markets, including Haitham Shreiba, who indicated that he touched a difference in the prices of some materials, reaching 500 pounds from their price outside the market, with some companies providing offers on the products, while Engineer Ammar Saleh pointed out the importance of this initiative to support people with low incomes.
