This fire, which occurred in the city of Lauriers (13th arrondissement) shortly after 6 p.m., in a 13-storey building, seriously burned a woman in her sixties, said the mayor of Marseille in a press release, confirming information from Provence.

" The fire has caught on in the stairwell, smoke has destroyed a lot of apartments and pipes have melted, causing water damage ", told AFP the Marseille firefighters, who hired 20 machines and 70 firefighters on this incident. With the help of firefighters, around fifty police officers evacuated the residents of the building, and began to relocate.

According to the town hall, 26 families were taken care of immediately and rehoused on Sunday evening. A psychological unit will be set up by the municipality on Monday morning, in conjunction with the Academic Inspectorate in the school attended by the deceased child. " It's a horrible drama that just happened, " said Jean-Claude Gaudin (LR), the mayor of Marseille. I bow emotionally to the pain of the families. The City of Marseille will do everything to help them overcome it . ” Departmental security is in charge of the investigation to determine the causes of the fire.
