A gift for his future. The daughter of George Floyd, the African-American man who died in a violent arrest in Minneapolis, received Disney shares from singer Barbra Streisand in support. The death of his father sparked a massive wave of protests against police violence in late May.

The news was announced Sunday on an Instagram account in the name of Gianna Floyd, created recently in tribute to his father. “Thank you Barbra Streisand for this package of actions. I am now a Disney shareholder thanks to you, "says the 6-year-old girl, in the photo caption where she shows a file formalizing the donation, accompanied by a few DVDs of the Broadway star.
It is not specified how many shares the girl was able to receive. According to Business Insider, the value of a share is estimated this Monday at around 112 dollars (around 100 euros).
Supported schooling
Barbra Streisand is not the first star to support George Floyd's daughter. Ten days ago, a spokesperson for Kanye West announced that the rapper would fully cover the girl's school fees. He also reportedly donated $ 2 million to support the families of George Floyd and Ahmaud Arbery and Breonna Taylor, who also died in police action.
Since the death of George Floyd, demonstrations honoring him and against police violence have been organized all over the planet. "Dad changed the world," responded Gianna, not long ago, at a Black Lives Matter rally in Minneapolis. The moving video quickly went viral, making Gianna one of the faces of the movement.
