The General Electricity Transmission and Distribution Corporation has put four new conversion centers into service in Aleppo as part of its plans to develop the electricity sector and improve its performance.

The Director General of the Foundation, Dr. Bassam Darwish, explained in a statement to his delegate Sana that after the recent merging of the two electricity transmission and distribution institutions into one administration, they benefited from a better standardization and operation of the two organizations' activity and achieving coordination and integration between them on the one hand and the electric power generation activity on the other hand and removing the tangles that occurred Between them in all their forms, in addition to the optimal investment of human and material resources, technical expertise, rationalization of expenditures, and access to a flexible and agile organizational structure that meets all requirements.

During the past month, according to Darwish, the Corporation has secured a portion of the materials necessary for the rehabilitation of electricity transmission stations and networks and transmission centers in Aleppo, and a dual circuit circuit 20 kilo volts has been implemented within the city of Aleppo to secure the delivery of electrical feeding to the liberated neighborhoods in it and within the old city, in addition to setting the Bab Al-Faraj conversion station 66/20 kV of service voltage to feed residential and industrial areas to contribute to the rotation of the economy wheel.

The Foundation seeks during the next stage to address electrical losses and improve collection and the implementation of government plans to rehabilitate electrical networks in Homs and Deir Al-Zour and the rest of the liberated areas and to perform maintenance for all stations and transfer centers and low tension networks so as to contribute to extending the life of the equipment in addition to securing electrical equipment from available national sources and friendly countries .
