The German Weather Service warns of constant rain over the Munich. The official warning is valid until Tuesday. And the Munich weather remains unsatisfactory.
- The German Weather Service has issued a weather warning for Munich against constant rain .
- Smaller floods cannot be ruled out.
- The Isar is already flooding - and the weather forecast does not bode well.
Munich - Real summer feelings really do not arise in the current weather in Munich. It feels like it has been raining since the beginning of May. Only two days, Friday and Saturday (June 12th and 13th), ensured relaxation and a short summer breath in the state capital.
Perhaps the uncomfortable weather was also a reason why many Munich residents suddenly forgot the Corona distance rules completely.
Sniffing the summer sun once, no matter how tight it gets, many Munichers will have thought well. And at least as far as the weather forecast is concerned, they didn't think so wrong.
Official weather warning for Munich: continuous rain with up to 50 liters per square meter
Because the summer feeling was short-lived in the Munich weather . At the moment there is even an official weather warning of constant rain for the state capital.
Until Tuesday (June 16, 6 a.m.) , the DWD warns of rainfall of up to 50 liters per square meter in addition to the approximately 25 liters per square meter that have already fallen.
This can result in flood events on the Isar and other rivers and streams. Streets and cellars can also be flooded. In 2017 it looked like this on the Isar:

- Jürgen P. Lang (@_onlinefirst) July 27, 2017Thank God it's not that bad yet. The Isar is currently still around 60 centimeters from the first flood reporting level.
Munich weather remains bad: rain, rain, rain - only milder again on Thursday
The guilt is a low over the English Channel , which lets cool Atlantic air meet moderately warm sea air over the middle of Bavaria. And it stays that way for now.
Only the thermometer rises at least a little. After rather late autumn highs of around 15 degrees on Sunday and Monday, Wednesday and Thursday are still hesitant upwards.
Nevertheless - Munich spots can expect sun spots at the earliest on Thursday afternoon. Then, however, there is a slow return of summer.
Severe weather in Munich: continuous rain evokes memories of hailstorm 2019
Hopefully it won't be as bad as 2019. We remember: Almost exactly a year ago, a huge storm front moved over Munich and the surrounding area. It hailed, it stormed, it devastated. Here are some pictures from back then:

A Twitter user then made a video of the hail precipitation over Munich:
