In the context of the new coronavirus pandemic, in Argentina about 9 million people receive aid from the national state through the Emergency Family Income (IFE) of $ 10,000. However, the owner of Anses, Fernanda Raverta, questioned its continuity after having delivered a first installment and during the second.
"The idea is to end this second payment while still thinking about how to accompany families at this time, I do not know if with IFE or with another instrument, " said the official.
As he explained, currently "there is a constant dynamic of reflection on what is happening and that means that the measures are taken based on the diagnosis of reality."
In this sense, he noted that " a province where the economy has already started up and where there is no circulation of coronavirus and another where there is, is not the same."
"The possibility that the State is present and accompanying each family and each reality at this juncture is being reviewed every day," said Raverta, who reported that there are about 9 million Argentines who currently charge the IFE in all the country.
"The agency (ANSeS) must accompany families in a context as complex as that of a pandemic and quarantine," the official added in statements to Futurock radio .
Regarding the payment schedule, Raverta stated: “We are paying the second schedule, the first one ended on June 3, this one started last Monday. First we pay the beneficiaries of the universal allocation and they collect the IFE too, there are 2.4 million people. ”
"Later we will pay those who have CBU, then those who never had a bank account and who from this do have their bank account," said the head of the agency on the search for greater bankarization in the population.
"This is a political decision by the president to accompany Argentine families in economic matters," Raverta defended.
Asked about the measures to be taken once the coronavirus contagion curve falls and certain sectors of economic activity are reactivated, which are currently halted, Raverta said: " The post-pandemic is discussed during the pandemic , for that there are areas such as the committee economic where proposals to get ahead are put on the table, and possible measures are being built and how we are going to accompany with a present State ”.
"There comes a time of much reflection but above all with a perspective of a State that is thinking about the degree of inequality that is going through us," he concluded.
