Omar Perotti is not resigned. The governor of Santa Fe is looking for alternatives to rescue Vicentin without resorting to the expropriation promoted by the Government. To this end, he met this Tuesday with representatives of Argentine Federated Farmers (AFA), the Federation of Federated Cooperatives (FECOFE) and the oil unions.

"If superior alternatives appear, the President is willing to listen," the provincial president had sustained at the door of Olivos' residence after participating in the meeting with President Alberto Fernández and the head of the company Sergio Nardelli , last Thursday.

Hours later, the head of state confirmed that the only possible way was expropriation. "At the moment it seems that the path continues to be expropriation, but work is being done to find a way back," said Perotti sincerely.

The meeting was held at the Government House of the city of Santa Fe, and participated by AFA: Jorge Petetta, President; Raúl Camertoni, Vice President; Eduardo Colmegna, Secretary; Guillermo Alloa, Treasurer; Nicolás Prlender, Trustee; Gonzalo Del Piano, General Manager and, Claudio Pereyra, Deputy General Manager; and on behalf of FECOFE, the president of the federation, Juan Manuel Rossi, was present.

Vicentín is indebted to 102 cooperatives for 9,222 million pesos, half of which is grouped in the Asociación de Cooperativas Argentinas. The amount represents 9.2% of the total red of the company, of about 99,345 million pesos.

Cooperatives, like the government, do not want the owners of Vicentin to participate in the rescue. The same conclusion had been reached by the Minister of Productive Development Matías Kulfas after holding a meeting with representatives of the Rosario Cereal Exchange and stockbrokers and brokers from Santa Fe.

Perotti and his Minister of Labor, Roberto Sukerman, also held a meeting on Tuesday with representatives of the Federation of Workers of the Oleaginous Industrial Complex, Cotton Ginners.

Santa Fe's Minister of Public Management, Rubén Michlig , also spoke in the last hours regarding Vicentin's future. "The first alternative is to rescue the company. A period of searching for a proposal that goes beyond expropriation begins. This is the commitment that the governor made, the officials said in radio statements.

The Santa Fe governor did not speak to Roberto Lavagna, one of the leaders who was most emphatically opposed to the expropriation project.

However, Perotti did speak to his countryman and current deputy, Luis Contigiani, who is moving forward with a project in the Lower House together with the legislators of the bloc that answers to the former economy minister, Graciela Camano and Jorge Sarghini .

Contigiani , who was Minister of Production of the socialist government of Santa Fe, proposed the creation of a public-private corporation in which cooperatives, the brand new Agro division of YPF, and the province of Santa Fe participate. "Expropriation as it is raised in Deputies does not pass. What does Sergio Massa think? And the economy minister? Are they going to ask for debt? At what rate? "are some of the unanswered questions that they pose in the Lavagna block.

The deputy, who today participates in the federal interblock in Congress, sent his project to Perotti, to the president of the Deputy and to government envoys. From Santa came a return and technical consultations, which Contigiani described as successful. The Nation should transfer actions of the Vicentín-YPF Agro alliance to the province, as well as the agreement that the state oil company has with the gas and crude oil producing provinces. "The solution is within the contest, a public limited company with state participation where the management of this new society does not participate in daily management," Contigiani imagines.

In the environment of Perotti, due to doubts, they insist that they do not seek to create contradictions between the strategy of the province and that of the Nation. Ultimately, the governor - who never wanted expropriation - will close ranks with the President.
