Will the President of the Republic go so far as to organize a referendum?

The power of the health crisis relaunches this hypothesis, on the eve of the presentation of a "new path". The end of the Climate Convention could be an opportunity for the Head of State to experiment with this type of consultation, the last of which dates back to 2005 with the European Constitution. The referendum is one of the institutional tools available to the President of the Republic, with the resignation, the dissolution of the Assembly, the reshuffle.

The citizens drawn by lot from the Climate Convention urge the president to consult the French to try to validate their proposals, on the basis of article 11 of the Constitution. The idea is not new: Emmanuel Macron himself had mentioned this possibility last January.
