A large wave of burglaries in the Ramat Beit Shemesh neighborhood, which is largely populated by ultra-Orthodox residents, led to an unusual ruling, which allowed residents to call the police in case they identified a burglar in action. Because these are Arab burglars, the neighborhood rabbis explained that it is permissible to call the police because of the fear of life threatening.

"Many ask," the statement said, signed by a number of rabbis in the Ramat Beit Shemesh C neighborhood, and which was distributed in Wattsap groups in Beit Shemesh last night (Thursday). "Lately, burglaries have occurred in our neighborhood on Holy Saturday night by Ishmaeli burglars, even while the members of the household were staying at their home. This could endanger the lives of peace and peace."

"Therefore, the chief arbiters of the neighbors who see a burglar entering such a house are allowed to inform the police and the Sabbath to prevent his actions. And if it is easy to do so casually, such as tapping a phone behind his fingers, he will do so," the rabbis wrote in the neighborhood. It is said that the wave of burglaries in recent times is very significant and disturbing. There are residents who broke into their home several times.
