The tenors of the left succeed each other in Marseille to support Michèle Rubirola

Many personalities come to support the candidate of Printemps Marseillais. Among them, the ex-presidential candidate Benoît Hamon. He makes his only municipal trip there.

Environmentalist Michèle Rubirola will travel around Marseille in good company next week. Outsider of the municipal elections in Marseille, leading in the first round in front of Martine Vassal, heiress of the outgoing mayor LR Jean-Claude Gaudin, the candidate of the Printemps Marseillais is preparing to welcome many personalities from the left and environmentalists whose ex presidential candidate Benoît Hamon.

"I leave my retirement 12 hours to return there then"

" This is the only trip I do,  " said Le Figaro, the former PS presidential candidate. " I come out of my retirement 12 hours to return there then  ." The stakes are high in Marseille. The movement carried by Michèle Rubirola brings together the entire left, from the Insubmissives to the Socialists and according to several polls, seems to have a good chance of winning.

Benoît Hamon will be on site Thursday, the same day as the PCF national secretary Fabien Roussel. Monday, the first secretary of the PS Olivier Faure will be there, the same day as the national secretary of EELV Julien Bayou. The next day, it will be the turn of MEP Raphaël Glucksmann. Green MEP Yannick Jadot was already there this week.

Rubirola stays away from Mélenchon

Only one person remains at a distance even though he is a deputy for Marseille, he is the leader of the Insubmissive Jean-Luc Mélenchon. Neither Michèle Rubirola, nor for that matter Sophie Camard, candidate of the 1st and 7th arrondissements and yet deputy to the Assembly of the ex-presidential candidate do not seem on very good terms with him. A little annoyed by this attitude, Jean-Luc Mélenchon wanted to remind, during a press point in Marseille last Monday, that Michèle Rubirola had voted for him in the presidential election of 2017. A donkey kick.

The tensions between them are a political reality and not only a strategic distance intended not to give grip to the opponent Martine Vassal. The latter denounces " the red danger" that threatens Marseille and proposed to Mélenchon to debate with it. The latter refused, emphasizing the qualities of Rubirola and the support "of France National rebellion " to the Republican Spring.
