A 14-year-old boy was brought before a judge on Friday for investigation into the fire that killed three people from the same family in a building in Marseille, announced the floor.

Unknown to the police, the minor was brought before a magistrate " for deliberate destruction by fire resulting in death " in the context of a judicial investigation opened by the Marseille prosecutor's office. The latter requested his detention on remand.
The hearings of several adolescents helped to clarify the conditions for the start of the fire that occurred Sunday shortly after 6 p.m. in a 13-storey building in the city of Lauriers in the 13th arrondissement of Marseille, the prosecution said.
They notably highlighted " the fact that one of them, aged 14, had deliberately set fire to certain parts " of a sofa located in the common areas upstairs, " which had then triggered a very significant spread of flames , "detailed in a statement the prosecutor of Marseille Dominique Laurens.
An 11-year-old girl and her grandmother died Sunday evening in the fire. The severely burned mother died on Tuesday. Five other people had been taken care of by the firefighters and 32 people, including 11 children, relocated in an emergency. The investigation, launched by the departmental security, will continue in the context of judicial information, according to the prosecution.
