The alarms went off in Mexico: an earthquake of magnitude 7.5 , with an epicenter 12 kilometers southeast of Crucecita (in Oaxaca), was registered in the Aztec country.
The truth is that the concern quickly escalated : is there a possibility that a tsunami may also occur after this phenomenon ?
According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration of the United States (NOAA), the answer is yes, and they even decided to issue a tsunami alert for four countries : Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras.

For now, as regards Mexico, the authorities are cautious, and for the moment they ruled out the possibility of a tsunami off the coast of this country.

"The only modification that we could have is at the level of our coastlines, in the Pacific, it could be in Guerrero or Oaxaca an increase in levels close to 113 centimeters , no more than that, is information from the Secretariat's Tsunami Alert Center de Marina ", pointed out David León, national coordinator of Civil Protection, to the newspaper Milenio.

So far, no structural damage or injuries have been reported from the major seismic movement. However, there is a strong operation in Mexico City to carry out a more thorough evaluation.

Many people recorded nervous breakdowns . There are also reports of people passed out from the shock caused by the movement, which felt very strong. Reports assure that the duration of the telluric movement was approximately one minute.

President Andrés Manuel López Obrador confirmed that the earthquake was felt with intensity , but that no major material damage was reported. He did it through his Twitter account.
