The toll booths on the access roads to the City presented delays greater than usual on this Tuesday morning during these days of quarantine for the new coronavirus. These delays, assure from the City Government, are due to the fact that in the collection areas there are control posts related to the fulfillment of social isolation that this Tuesday morning — hours before a more stringent stage of quarantine— , they work with more intensity .

" Awareness work is being done with the neighbors, explaining the changes that will be implemented. Basically, clarifying that many of those who circulate today will not be able to do so starting tomorrow," they explained from the City's Transportation Secretariat.

More cars are being detained and more extensive checks are underway .

As of this Wednesday, July 1, unlike what had happened in the first stage of the preventive and compulsory social isolation launched on March 20, all drivers will continue to be charged , with one exception: they will not pay those who work in security forces or in the health sector. They, in addition, will continue to have, as until now, exclusive lanes, they explained from the City.

Why in the first stage of the quarantine was no toll charged and since this Wednesday, when you return to strict isolation, you will be charged? Transporte de la Ciudad indicates that the only reason why they stopped charging since March 20 was because there were no protocols for highway personnel to carry out the collection in the appropriate conditions from the health point of view, but now they do .

It should also be remembered that in the North and West accesses, since the first months of 2019 there is no longer an obligation for dealers to "raise the barriers" in the event of delays in the cabins due to accumulation of vehicles.

On the other hand, according to the report of 9:30 this Tuesday on mobility and security during isolation, up to 33 thousand vehicles circulated on the city's highways, which marks a drop of 15% compared to last week and represents just 42% of the traffic that was before the quarantine began.

At the same time, the sensors that the Ministry of Transportation has on the main avenues of Buenos Aires registered a circulation of 31 thousand vehicles so far today, which means 2% less than yesterday and similar volume compared to last Tuesday .
