Ezequiel Garay said goodbye, this Tuesday, to Valencia due to the termination of his contract. Everything indicated that the renovation was going to come to fruition but a short circuit with the leadership made him say goodbye prematurely, three seasons after his arrival, from the Russian Zenit.

It all started a month ago: the 2014 world runner-up in Brazil starred in a series of exchanges with the leadership that sought to change his contract once it was already agreed. In addition, he accused that from the upper echelons of the Spanish club they started a smear campaign against him by leaking false renewal figures.

"I am very sorry to get to this point, but I am forced to do so by the smear campaign that is being carried out against me, and I do not mean the media. I mean the people in my club who apparently have the intention of discrediting me as a professional and as a person, "he said in a video that he broadcast on Instagram.

Garay denies that he would have rejected a proposal of 2.7 million euros net. And it speaks of a "noticeably inferior" offer.

In addition, he maintains that money was not his priority to play in Valencia. "It is unfair to show that I do not want to stay for money because the day I signed for Valencia I ruled out a much larger offer," he concluded.

The former Real Madrid also thanked the Valencia fans, where he lived spectacular moments. "Eternally grateful ... Thanks for so much family, I can never forget what I lived and enjoyed," he acknowledged on Instagram, where he published a photo of his presentation and another with the Copa del Rey, which they beat Barcelona in 2019.

Banega says goodbye

Everything indicates that Banega will play his last minutes with Sevilla before starting his experience at the Al Shabab in Saudi Arabia. The club tries to keep it for another month, but it seems unlikely. Thus, your stay in the Andalusian team will end. There were 5 seasons divided into two very successful steps: he won two UEFA Europa League (2015 and 2016) and in the first he was the MVP of the final. In addition, in his only participation in a World Cup with the Major Team (Russia 2018) he was called up for his great performances in the Spanish cast.
