As part of the preparation for the next school year, the Ministry of Education issued a letter Tuesday to school administrators and administrators asking them to prepare for the possibility of a full-fledged Corona virus spread in 2010.

According to the document, closure of all educational institutions or individual schools may be required. This scenario would involve one or the other transition to complete home-learning. In addition, schools are required to prepare for a scenario in which they will operate in models that combine distance learning with school learning.

The third scenario, such as the one that has been triggered in recent months since the outbreak of the virus, is that of "Corona routine". That is, schools will remain open but operate under the required health restrictions designed to prevent the spread of the virus.

As part of the school year planning guidelines, the Ministry of Education is urging administrators to learn lessons from the last school year, and because of the transition to distance learning, they are asking administrators to check who teachers are proficient in digital tools, such as "zoom," and who have no knowledge or ability to teach remotely.

The Ministry of Education proposes emphasizing the ability of the educational staff and their abilities and wrote that they would recommend "diagnosing among the staff the knowledge gaps on the following topics: Proficiency in digital tools, knowledge and ability in distance learning and the frequent transition between the different situations". Principals are required to build teachers a training program to reduce the gap.

As published in Israel Today, the Ministry of Education is examining several scenarios for integrating distance learning and schooling. The next school year is expected to include more distance learning for the upper grades, student chairs and complete segregation of buildings.

The Ministry of Education acknowledges that the Corona event is not expected to pass in the coming months and therefore claim that they are working to provide the best response to continue the educational frameworks.

The education system is currently considering some measures that will affect what the next school year will look like. The main emphasis will be on separating students as much as possible. Among other things, they are examining whether partitions can be put between the students, or alternatively, over a student chair that has a small table on its own - which will split the students so that they no longer sit in pairs and do not share a table. Such a move has many consequences, especially economic ones.
