Deadline has arrived - and the window of opportunity for sovereignty opens • Senior ministers estimate: Despite the difficulties, Netanyahu will succeed in completing the move

The deadline for applying sovereignty has arrived - but the field, meanwhile, has no changes. However, senior ministers in the government say that despite the difficulties in advancing the sovereignty process, the prime minister's ability to bring about the move has been made.

In closed talks, the ministers said the government had a majority in support of the course, so it could be passed on despite opposition to blue and white. They were based, among other things, on the comments of Minister of Communications, Yoaz Handel, who said that "Corona and the economic crisis should be treated as if there is no political opportunity, and exploited the political opportunity in parallel with Corona."

Diaspora Minister Omar Yankblich of White Blue also spoke out yesterday for the course of sovereignty. On a tour of Gush Etzion, she said, "This place is our ancestral estate. Israeli citizens who live here are by virtue of the Israeli government's decisions. They should be under Israeli sovereignty."

Government officials: "The change in Gantz's position is understandable"

According to senior ministers, the prime minister's ability to overcome the US reservations is also because he received a presidential promise to implement sovereignty, and because at this time the administration could not oppose any such move that is compatible with the Trump plan.

The envoy returned to Washington

The remarks of the senior ministers follow the round of talks that have taken place in Israel since the beginning of the week, the senior envoy of the president, Avi Berkowitz. Last night, Berkowitz met with Netanyahu for the third time and discussed with him the results of the talks he had with the replacement Prime Minister Benny Gantz and Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi.

In a farewell ceremony for Foreign Ministry Director General Yuval Rotem, Netanyahu did not elaborate on the contents of the talks, saying that "with my father, Berkowitz, Ambassador Friedman and members of their delegation, I spoke about the question of sovereignty. We are working on it these days, and we will continue to work on it in the coming days. "

Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi, who met with Berkowitz separately, said: "We are facing significant regional opportunities. And the existing peace agreements. "

Israel Today has learned that in Berkowitz's talks with Netanyahu, Gantz and Ashkenazi, the possibility of Israel taking tributes, eases or steps toward the Palestinians was discussed in order to reduce their opposition to sovereignty. Berkowitz also spoke to Israeli officials about the possibility that the Arab states or European countries will succeed in getting the Palestinians to remove the boycott from Israel and the Trump administration and negotiate with Israel.

As far as is known, these talks did not bear fruit because there is no factor or move capable of bringing the Palestinians to the table. Likewise, Prime Minister Netanyahu rejects US proposals that he sees go far. It should be noted that according to the Trump plan, Israel should only make gestures toward the Palestinians only after they begin to meet the conditions contained therein. Berkowitz ended his meetings in Israel last night and returned to the US, and another round of talks is expected in the White House in the coming days.

"Historic Fitness Hour"

Meanwhile, officials in the Trump administration revealed yesterday an understanding of the change in the position of replacement Prime Minister Benny Gantz in relation to the peace plan. Gantz, who in recent months has voiced support for the Trump program and pledged to apply sovereignty in the Jordan Valley - introduced a turnaround yesterday.

At the end of his meeting with the US team, Gantz said: "Before promoting diplomatic moves, Israeli citizens must be able to succeed in returning to work and earn a living again." The Trump administration said in response that "the change in Gantz's position is understandable."

The Minister revealed Gamliel (Likud) attacked Benny Gantz last night following his change of position, saying: "This is a historic time to apply Israeli sovereignty, the necessary international support exists.
