Guatemala: new Minister of Health, new figures from covid-19

Covid-19 cases in Guatemala are on the rise. In the last 24 hours, and according to official data, the country registered 687 new infections and 27 deaths. However, the figures are preliminary. The Ministry of Health warned that there is an ongoing audit of the country's database and reporting systems, after detecting that some medical, public and private centers were not up to date with the mandatory reporting of cases. The investigation was ordered by the current Minister of Health, Amelia Flores, who just took office on June 18, when Hugo Monroy left the post. Kay Guerrero has more details in her K Report.
