2020-07-02T20:19:24.378Z

The National Security Act of the Minato District came into force late last night (June 30), ushering in the 23rd anniversary of the return of Hong Kong today (July 1). The Democratic Front was originally scheduled to start the parade this afternoon, but the police issued a notice of opposition to the procession and a notice of prohibition of assembly. It was also rejected after the appeal. Even though the Democratic Front stated that it was unable to initiate the march, many people on the Internet called for a march at Victoria Park today at 3 pm. MTR, NWFB, KMB and trams will have special arrangements for driving in response to the large-scale activities on Hong Kong Island. According to the Transport Department, due to the road conditions on Hong Kong Island, some road sections are temporarily blocked or closed, including a section of Hennessy Road between Marsh Road and Tin Hau to Yee Wo Street and a section of southbound Percival Street between Gloucester Road and Jaffe Road.
