Beirut-Sana
Protests continued in a number of Lebanese regions today to demand improvement in living conditions, some of which were interrupted by road blockages and sporadic acts of sabotage.
The Lebanese National Media Agency reported that protesters gathered in front of the Banque du Liban in Beirut, chanting slogans condemning banking and financial policy.
A number of owners of establishments and shops carried out a sit-in in the Martyrs' Square to protest the deteriorating economic conditions, which forced many of them to close.
To that, a number of protesters in the Riad al-Solh Square in central Beirut removed a number of concrete walls leading to the entrance to the Lebanese parliament, which required rapid intervention by the riot police and the Lebanese security forces.
Other protesters blocked the two-way highway, Bcharre Al-Arz, in Bcharri, while the Lebanese Traffic Control Chamber reported cutting traffic on the farm's promenade in both directions.
Since October 17, Lebanon has witnessed sit-ins and protests demanding the judiciary to hold corrupt people accountable, fight corruption and improve the deteriorating living conditions in the country.
