Judicial information for " usual murder and intentional violence against a minor under 15 years of age " has been opened. The prosecutor, David Charmatz, requested the placement under warrant of deposit of this nursing assistant who raised his daughter alone. The investigating judge heard her Friday in a prison room of the Saint-Etienne teaching hospital, where she was placed in police custody because of her mental state.
" The autopsy established that the death was due to peritonitis caused by a tear in the intestine following a severe blow to the stomach. The child also presented two recent fractures of the skull and nose, "said the prosecution, for whom" older traces visible at the ribs and sternum attest that she had been the victim of ill-treatment for several weeks ".
The young woman, previously unknown to the justice system and who was not followed on a psychiatric level, denies any responsibility in the death of her daughter, only indicating that she would have fallen from a bicycle on Tuesday afternoon. She had called for help around 10 p.m. after the child, according to her, had vomited and fell to the ground inanimate. She died when she arrived at the hospital.
According to the prosecution, the children's judge had received educational assistance since 2016, but none of the services that intervened had found any acts of violence, nor the family's neighborhood.
