In Erdinger Land too, more and more people are getting a taste of (honey): beekeeping is very popular. The number of beekeeping associations is increasing, as are the courses for aspiring hobby breeders. This is a good development in times of bee and insect death. But if hobby beekeepers stand any colonies in the garden, it can endanger the preservation of important breeds, mixing can be the result. This in turn endangers breeding success.
