Each time a new generation of mobile network arrives, the question of its health and environmental impact arises. The fifth generation (5G) does not cut it, even if this new technology is based on physical foundations known for decades. The main difference being that the frequencies used for 5G will be higher.
The question is therefore whether exposure to these new frequencies will have an impact on the health of populations, and if so, which one. The National Health Security Agency (ANSES) is carrying out an expertise which will be released in 2021. But, even then, “we cannot give a definite answer. You can never demonstrate that there is no risk linked to a technology, " recalled Olivier Merkel, head of the unit for risk assessment of physical agents at ANSES, during a round table discussion on July 1 in the Senate, before reassuring: “All the work carried out to date by ANSES has not revealed any risk
