The protester of the Argentine Rural Confederations (CRA), Juan Pablo Karnatz , denounced today that part of his field located near the Santiago town of Fernández was burned.

"We are in moments of expertise with our engineers. We were surprised because last night was a cold day, with a south wind, and that setting fire to two or three places in front of you gives you suspicions. It could also have been some irresponsible person who tried to warm up with fire or heat water for the mate, " the victim leader described to Clarín .

The fire started on the shoulder and spread inside the producer's establishment, but the workers were able to stop it in time, so the damage was not greater.

"Thank goodness there was a south wind and it was cold because otherwise it would have been a disaster," warned the rural leader, adding that Santiago del Estero is a fire season. "I do not rule out any hypothesis," he said.

He has not yet made the formal complaint because he is currently doing the expert reports with engineers and based on what the specialists tell him, he will analyze how to continue. " We try to be very responsible and more at the moment," he considered.

He is not the only CRA leader who denounces an abnormal situation. The first to report an intentional fire was the entity's vice president, Gabriel de Raedemaeker , who warned that in his field, located in the town of Oliva (Córdoba), he was set on fire on purpose, affecting 5 hectares of wheat and 30 hectares of corn. Recently, the president of the Rural Society of Río Cuarto, David Tonello , where he warned that 100 hectares were set on fire in his field located in the Cordovan town of Charras, but it was not yet known if it was intentional.

"I think we have to find a way to lower the decibels. That projects like Buryaile and Massa work and become effective. No angle of political power and no political color misunderstand these things. We have to seek prudence and peace " , analyzed.
